Boron

HAVE YOU ever wondered why an apple a day is said to keep the doctor away? Boron, for one. The same benefit can also come from a handful of nuts, grapes or listen up, all you wine lovers-a glass of vino, all of which are especially rich in this valuable micronutrient.

According to results from a new study by the School of Public Health at UCLA. Boron can go a long way toward reducing the risk of prostate cancer. The researchers compared the diets of more than 7,500 men without prostate cancer to the diets of 76 men with the those.

They found that the prostate cancer risk among men eating less than one milligram of boron per day was two-thirds greater than the risk among those consuming at least 1.8 milligrams of the mineral. However, be aware that large amounts of boron can be toxic, so aim for no more than two or three milligrams of this nutrient per day.
