How does yoga for babies work? The baby’s internal organs get a gentle massage as the mother or father rubs, flips, turns and gets the baby to take up certain postures. The parents are responsible for carrying out all the baby’s movements, and the babies get to feel their bodies as they are gently maneuvered to aid digestion and development. It’s a wonderful way to bond with your baby.

But is it real yoga? Not really, but certain yoga stretching exercises do help the baby physically, for it enhances blood circulation and is a form of light exercise. Remember, some babies do not always make good students. Parents have to get their child to cooperate by distracting him or her with a toy, or by making noises. If that does not work, you will just have to wait for the next opportunity to try another position.

Some parents feel yoga could help their children calm down and stay focused, thus helping them when it is time to eat. And they believe their children can get a stronger immune system and good posture. But opinions vary as to how old a baby should be before he or she takes up yoga. It’s about having fun as they learn and exercise using yoga. One can incorporate elements of yoga into storytelling, music and play sessions as the baby grows.

This article on Yoga is so good, hopefully more and more Mom’s will hear and listen and do. My grade four teacher told us when we were nine years old. Best way I know to calm yourself down and learn self-control. Everyone needs yoga very much. Learning yoga changed my life for the better! Calm people are much more sensible people. Let people know that you can do yoga anytime, anywhere. Even for just a few minutes while you’re waiting for this, that and the other thing. Thank you kindly.
