Sun bathing cures acne:
There is a famous myth that sun bathing cures acne, which is totally wrong. This myth may work in short run but in long run it does not work. What does make people think that sun bathing cures acne? Actually when you tan, it is just a temporary cover up of your acne. As due to tanning your skin tone changes which cover up your acne. It fade away some blemishes But in long run it aggravates your skin condition. People believe that during tanning our skin pores will open which helps to eliminate toxins from our skin.
How sun aggravates our skin condition?
As we know that sun contains ultra violet light A and B. These UV rays are very dangerous for our skin. These rays cause skin to peel and irritate. These UV rays also cause skin cancer in long run if sun exposure is too long. These rays also cause wrinkles and premature aging. Tanning beds and booths do the same harm to your skin like direct sunlight. It is not said that don’t tan your self, do it but don’t spend more time under sun just few minutes with lots of precautions which are following:
- Before going out in sun use sunscreen with sun protection factor (SPF) of 15. If you sweat a lot then apply it again and again.
- If you are going for swimming use sun screen again and again after every 2 to 3 hours.
- Try to use that sunscreen which contains broad spectrum protection. It gives you protection against ultra violet lights.
- Use comedogenic sunscreen which helps us to protect against acne.
- During 10.00 am to 4.00 pm UV rays are very strong, so try to keep yourself inside as muchas you can. If you have to go outside then use sunscreen.
- If you are already taking acne medication then make sure that these medicines don’t make your skin sun sensitive. Many acne medications make your skin sun sensitivity.
