Children only need low dosages of essential oils and they respond very well to them. Usually you use about a third of an adult dose but always check that the oils you are using are safe for children and their delicate skin. Some oils are not to be used with children so always check with a professional aromatherapist as to how the oil should be used. When adding oil to your infant’s bath water you should always add the correct amount of drops to about half a litre of water, shake and then add this to their bath.

Thanks for a great article touting the benefits of aromatherapy. I believe that aromatherapy, along with yoga as part of an Ayurvedic lifestyle can be incredibly beneficial to children. Our son uses Elanveda headache relief any time we get in the car for a long ride to alleviate the headaches he gets when sitting in the back seat for a long time. Thanks for the info, I will have to try the car sickness one as well!
